About Us
In 2020, I began operations with a commitment to providing compassionate, professional, and personalized funeral care to families throughout Southeast Missouri. As the sole owner and operator, I have been honored to continue the traditions established by the Ponder and Shelby families, whose names have been trusted in our communities for generations.
Ponder Funeral Home came to Sikeston in 1982, joining Crews-Welsh Funeral Home at its original location on West Gladys at New Madrid Streets. In 1992, a new facility was built at its current location on North Main Street, where it continues to serve families today. As we move forward into the future, the funeral home will continue serving the Sikeston community from the same location under its new name, Caudle Funeral Home, while maintaining the same commitment to excellence and compassionate care that families have come to expect.
Shelby Funeral Home has been providing services to East Prairie and Mississippi County for over 100 years. Established in 1900 by the Shelby family, it remains one of the original pillars of the community and has served generations of local families with dignity and respect. As part of our continued growth and commitment to the future, Shelby Funeral Home will continue its long tradition of service under the name Caudle-Shelby Funeral Home, while preserving the heritage and values that have made it a trusted name for more than a century.
After six years of ownership, I have made the decision to transition both funeral homes into the next chapter of their history. While the names are changing, the things that matter most remain the same. Families will continue to be served by the same wonderful, caring, and trusted staff members they have come to know over the years. The familiar faces, compassionate guidance, and dedication to serving families with dignity and respect will continue unchanged.
