Wilma Jean Denning, age 74, passed away November 5, 2025, at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.
She was born October 18, 1951 in Charleston, MO to the late Harold L. Corbin and Virginia Mae Jones.
In December 1969, she met the love of her life, Robert. L. Denning, whom she married just three short weeks later. They were married for fifty-five years.
Throughout her life she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt; she was greatly loved. She enjoyed crafting, baking, family gatherings, and taking pictures. Before retiring she was employed at Sikeston Public Schools and as a manager for Sav-A-Lot in Sikeston.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Denning; one son, Jerry (Beth) Denning of Morehouse, MO; two grandchildren, Jordan (Taylor) Denning and Elyssa (Berry) Bright both of Sikeston; two great-granddaughters, Jadelyn Denning and Cambree Denning both of Sikeston.
She is also survived by one brother, Dale L. Corbin of London, AR; four sisters, June (Earl) O'Connor of Kewanee, Carol Corbin of Sikeston, Donna (Herbie) Watson of Lamar, and Tonya Dill of East Prairie.
She is preceded in death by her father, Harold L. Corbin; her mother, Virginia Mae Jones; one sister, Jane K. Denning; two great-nephews, Shane Street and Michael Hopper; and two nieces, Tammy L. Denning and Sheila Parks.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 8, from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral services at 7:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Chris Duvall will officiate.
