William Lee (Bill) Whitlock of Sikeston, Missouri passed away on February 11, 2022.

He was born July 16, 1928 in Wolf Lake, Illinois to the late Roy and Ethel Whitlock.

He attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University.  He worked at a variety of jobs, including for the Missouri State Highway Department; Kaiser Engineering; and the City of Sikeston, serving as Director of Public Works, Assistant City Manager and Acting City Manager.  Along with his friend and business partner Lynn Lancaster, he opened the Jays Krispy Fried Chicken restaurant in Sikeston in the mid-1970's. Most recently, he was the president of the Nesselrodt-Campbell Gin Company in Lilbourn, Missouri.  He was also a 32 ^nd Degree Mason

On June 11, 1953 he married Betty Joyce Nesselrodt, who survives him.  He is also survived by his son, Brad Whitlock and wife Laura of Dallas, Texas; his daughter Barbara Breedon and husband Jeff of Jackson, Missouri; and his grandchildren, Katherine, William and Alexandra Whitlock.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sikeston.  He enjoyed attending gun shows, spending time with his family, and hunting with his friend, Neal Ross, in the deer woods around Van Buren, Missouri.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
