William Raymond ( Ray) Duvall

"Ray" as he was affectionately called by his friends, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 23, 1936 and died on March 29, 2025 at 89 in Missouri with loving family by his side.

At the age of 7 he became an orphan and was placed in a Children's Home until his older brother George was able to rescue him.

At 18 he went into the military and 6 years later had 3 honorable discharges from the Navy and Air Force. He toured much of Europe, and met his first wife Maria in Italy. They had two sons, David and Richard. David died at age 6 of drowning.

He used his GI bill to become a Master Barber and open his own shop and became a successful barber and business man. He had interests in real estate, a sign painting company and even selling thousands of Christmas trees at the Baltimore Stadium. He had two other marriages and two additional daughters, Tina Carney and Diana Simpson. He also had a long time girlfriend, Jane Delpizzo ,who he dearly loved, that preceded him in death.

His life was one of adventure! He was president of Parents Without Partners for many years and active in many clubs. He was a master scuba diver and dove all over the world including the Great Barrier reef. Ray was also an avid skier and skied all the great slopes around the world. He was also an a skilled sailor - earning him the nickname "Captain Ray".

He lived in Mexico for many years and his door was always open to his friends and family with Ray being the perfect host and ready for a party at any time.

He would often tell people, "You need two things for a happy home - music and flowers!"

He is survived by his two daughter and one son, Richard, cousin, Dr Robert (Jane) Perry, nephew Keith (Charleen) Jenkins. His dear friends who were such a comfort in his older years- Linda Dipasquale, George (Carol) Comer, and many more.

Per Ray's wishes his ashes will be dispersed in the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, where he lived for 40 years, at a later date.
