Obituary

Wilbert Dale Wolford, age 83, of Tamms, Illinois passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Southeast Health Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  He was born November 29, 1937 in Dorena, Missouri to the late Aaron and Christine Cole Wolford.  He was a self-employed farmer.  He was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.  He was a gospel singer for many years with the Wolford Brothers.

He was married to Josephine Annette Ahlfield Wolford, who survives of the home.

Wilbert is also survived by one son, Tony Wolford of Olive Branch, Illinois; one daughter, Cherry J. Ray of Cache, Illinois; one brother, Bill Wolford of Murray, Kentucky; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Marvin Wolford and George Wolford.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021 beginning at 12 noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Clint Naile officiating.

Interment will follow in Anniston Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Adam Smithey, Gage Wolford, Dane Weibrecht, Kaleb Weibrecht, Holden Storz and Pierce Weibrecht.
