Virginia Gailor Elizabeth Wilson, age 80, of Puxico, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born June 19, 1943, in Granite Mountain, Alabama, to the late James Thomas Guthrie and Vester Lorene Guthrie. She was a homemaker who loved working in her flower garden; her red roses were her favorite. She also loved fishing.
On June 25, 1960, she married Sharron Eugene Wilson, who preceded her in death July 15, 1993.
Survivors include her twin sons, Steven Eugene Wilson and Allen Eugene Wilson, both of Puxico; two daughters, Virginia Gail (Ricky) Lizenbee of Advance, Missouri and Sharon Eugenea (Eddie) Tuschoff of Oak Ridge, Missouri; two brothers, Leon Guthrie and Tony Clay Guthrie, both of Alabama; five sisters, Sue Guthrie and Ruby Jones, both of East Prairie, Missouri, Pat Day of Arnold, Missouri, Shirley Howton and Ruth Ryan, both of Alabama. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Andrea Gail Lizenbee, Stacey Lynette Shoemaker, Cody Daniel Tuschoff, Salena Morgan, James Allen Wilson and Ashley Denise Wilson; and three great grandchildren, Eli Keith Shoemaker, Robert Morgan and Victoria Lynn Morgan.
In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Marie Wilson; two brothers, Franklin Guthrie and Nathan Guthrie; and one sister, Katherine Hailey.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023, beginning at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Graveside services and interment will immediately follow at East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Guthrie, Tommy Jones, Clay Guthrie, Butch Shirrels, Bobby Jones and Kevin Lee.
