Obituary

Steven Monroe Norman, age 63 of Murray, Kentucky , formerly of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022, at his home in Murray.  He was born September 5, 1959, in Wyatt, Missouri, to the late James Monroe Norman and Shirley Bone Norman.  He was employed by Briggs & Stratton in Murray for 25 years and later worked as a tow motor operator for AWS in Murray.   In his spare time he enjoyed watching football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs, fishing and hunting.

On June 26, 2006, in Murray, he married Teresa Davis Norman, who survives of the home.

Steven is also survived by one son, Justin (Kim) Simpson of Festus, Misssouri; one daughter, Angela (Michael) Blakely of Almo, Kentucky; one sister, Judy Conyers of Barlow, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Krauss, Jonathan Krauss, Tristan Simpson, Emma Newsom and Adelynn Simpson; five great grandchildren, Lilly, Cole, Ayden, Chevelle and Remington; two nieces, Nikki Brooks and Dawn Carden; one nephew, Dustin Conyers; and his special companion, Lucy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Cannan Simpson; and one grandson, Seth Miller.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with his son, Justin Simpson, officiating.

Interment will immediately follow at East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Justin Simpson, Jeffrey Krauss, Jonathan Krauss, Dustin Conyers, Keaton Caery and Corey Caery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Blakely, Michael O'Dell, Terry Mayabb, Clyde Wheatley, Brian Carden, Connor Carneal and Landon Carneal.
