Obituary

Smoke Wayne Woods, age 23, of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in Washington County near Bourbon, Missouri.  He was born May 31, 2000, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Garry Wayne Woods, Jr., who survives of East Prairie and Christa Farrell of Charleston.  Smoke was a 2018 graduate of East Prairie High School.  He served in the United States Army for four years, stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, getting tattoos, and collecting knives.  He loved his dogs, especially his dog named Buddy.  He had attended Elm Street Baptist Church before entering the military.

Smoke is survived by his brother, Kameron Woods of Advance, Missouri; his sister, Meagan Woods of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and his nieces and nephews, June, Mox, Cash, Uriah, Kryshton, and Lailan.

Smoke was preceded in death by his grandfather, Garry Wayne Woods, Sr., his grandmother, Dimple Marie Woods; and his uncle, Melvin Eugene Woods.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, beginning at 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Bro. Jon Archie of Elm Street Baptist Church will officiate.

Burial will be private at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Honorary pallbearers will be Drei Blumenberg, Billy Williams, Louis Weaver, Alex Popescu, John Ojeda, and Justin McQuillin.

Shelby Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
