Shirley Jean Chadd, age 88, passed away February 28, 2026 at Delta South Nursing Facility in Sikeston, MO.

She was born July 16, 1937 in Ste. Genevieve, MO, daughter of the late Walter L. Sikes and Regina M. Schmidt-Sikes.

Shirley was of the Christian faith and had owned and operated a private cleaning service before retiring. She enjoyed cooking and reading and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by one son, James W. (Sue) Heaton III; two daughters, Shelia (Mark) Brock and Sherry Vanover; one brother, Austin Lee Sikes; four grandchildren, Ben (Madison) Ray, Marshall (Allison) Heaton, Lisa Heaton, and Stacey Heaton; two step-grandchildren, Brian Brock and Corey Brock; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded by one brother, Dennis Sikes; one sister, Carol Lea Eisenbach; and one grandson, Tyler Vanover.

There will be graveside services held on Wednesday, March 4, at 11:00 a.m. at Sikeston Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Ponder Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Mark Brock, Ben Ray, Cory Brock, and Brian Brock.
