Shelby Eugene Ellis, age 81 passed away Thursday, April 15 ^th , 2021 at Chaffee Nursing Facility in Chaffee, Missouri surrounded by family and friends.  His funeral service will be Wednesday, April 21st, with visitation at 11:00am and funeral service at 1pm at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Pastor Mike Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at the Dogwood Cemetery.

Shelby was born February 15 ^th , 1940 in East Prairie, Missouri to the late Lillian (Harden) Ellis and the late Ross Eugene Ellis, both of East Prairie.  On May 27 ^th , 1960 he married Annie Bernice Hayden who preceded him in death December 17, 2019.  Together they have one son, Steven Eugene Ellis, one daughter in law, Dana Brown-Ellis and two grandchildren, Brett Shelby Ellis and Hayden Roper Ellis all residing in East Prairie.   Shelby has four siblings; Raymond Ellis that lives in East Prairie and three that preceded him in death, Richard Williams of Sikeston, Missouri, Dorothy Collier of Jackson, Missouri and Shirley Ellis, who was a young child when she passed away.

Shelby's pride and joy was his two grandsons and spending time with them and his family.  He also was passionate about fishing, hunting and motorcycling.  He attended the Assembly of God Church in East Prairie and was a Veteran serving time in the Army.  Shelby was the avid gardener, in which he gladly passed around to all his family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Gary Wilson, Bruce Collier, Clint Collier, Brian Ellis, Ronnie Ellis, Bruce Kersey.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Arden Dale Banks, JW Grogan, Eddie Stockman and Billy Archie.
