Sharon Kay Kimbrell, 74, formally of Sikeston, MO, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022, at the Heart to Heart Center in Fort Worth, TX.

She was born June 23, 1947, in Sikeston, MO to the late Troy David Clinton and Agnes Maria Schwartz.  On October 26, 1965, in Sikeston, MO, she married William Kimbrell who preceded her in death in 2004.

Sharon worked at The University of Missouri Veterinary Medicine School as Administrative Assistant to the Dean for over twenty years before she retired in 2006.  She was an avid quilter and loved making hand sewn quilts for her family and friends.  She was a lover of her dogs and had many animals, both bred and raised by her as well as rescues and adopted pets.  She loved to fish and go boating.  She had an infectious smile and laugh which enabled her to make instant friends of strangers.

She is survived by one son, Harry Clinton (Gelareh) Kimbrell of Johns Creek, GA; one daughter, Pam Kimbrell of Fort Worth, TX; one sister Fonda Clinton of Benton, MO; two brothers Paul David Hixon of Delray Beach, FL and James Hixon of Toledo, OH; five grandchildren Forrest Clinton Kimbrell, Noah Clinton Kimbrell, Luca Clinton Kimbrell, Isabella Maria Kimbrell, and Nikki Kimbrell; and many lifelong friends from the Ursuline Academy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Troy Davey Clinton, Jr. and Buddy Clinton.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 3, 2022, from 5 until 7:00 p.m. with the funeral service being Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Interment will follow immediately at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri under the direction of Southern Funeral Services, Inc.
