Sharon "Ninny" Aters, age 68, passed away November 25, 2024 at Delta South Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Sikeston, MO.
She was born August 24, 1956 in Bell City, MO, daughter of the late Otis Bennett and Pauline Kellick-Bennett.
On May 29, 1974 she was married to Floyd Doss Aters, he survives of the home in East Prairie, MO
Ninny had worked for the East Prairie School District for over 10 years before retiring.
She loved cooking, baking, spending time with family, walking, and going to the beach, but most of all Ninny loved Jesus.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Floyd (Becky) Aters Jr. and Nathan (Jill) Aters both of East Prairie, MO; one daughter, Paula Matheney (Jason Driskill) of East Prairie, MO; two brothers, Oneal (Brenda) Cossey of Bloomfield, MO and Gary Cossey of Dexter, MO; six sisters, Carol McLard of Sikeston, MO, Barbara Renfro of Sikeston, MO, Connie Hensley of Morehouse, MO, Judy (Darrell) Killian of Sikeston, MO, Kathy Seals of Sikeston, MO, and Nona (Wayne) Odum of Pace, FL; four grandchildren, Zach (Brittany) Matheney, Lilly Matheney (Slade Archie), Brynn Childers, and Alyvia Matheney; five great-grandchildren, Fletcher Matheney, Larah Taylor, Ledge Taylor, Newton-Tyler Matheney; special cousin, Virgil Weaver of Hayti, MO; and her beloved dog, Nash.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harlan Cossey.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 27, from 11:00am. until time of funeral services at 1:00p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, MO. Pastor Eric McGruder will officiate the service.
Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery at Dogwood, MO.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Aters, Shawn Aters, Slade Archie, Dallas Chance, Jason Driskill, and Jason Archie. Cleon Cole will be an honorary pallbearer.
