Ruth Carol Pope, age 87, formerly of Warrenton, Missouri passed away August 24, 2021 at her home in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born December 3, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri, daughter of the late Harry and Emma Roesch Bartold, she was a member of Troy Lutheran Church in Troy, Missouri.

Ruth was married to Leonard Elwood Pope, who preceded her in death March 17, 2012.

She is survived by one son, John Quirk of Raymondville, Missouri; three daughters, Carol Clark of Sikeston, Missouri, Cynthia Akers of Warrenton, Missouri, and Sharon Hanners of St. Charles, Missouri; one sister, Gloria (Craig) Steging of Prescott, Arizona; and five grandchildren, John Clark of Dexter, Missouri, Stephanie Hanners of Branson, Missouri, Christina Clark of Sikeston, Missouri, Katelyn Hanners of St. Charles, Missouri, and Joe Quirk of Raymondville, Missouri.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Bartold; and two sisters, Thelma Doyle and Shirley Rudar.

There will be private services held at a later date with interment at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
