Ruby Joyce Grogan, age 78 of Wyatt, MO passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.  She was born January 15, 1945, in Wolf Island, MO to the late Enoch Merryman and Ethel Carden Merryman.  She had been employed by both East Prairie Nursing Center and Clearview Nursing Center before she retired.

She married William "Bill" Grogan in 1964, and he preceded her in death in 2008.

Ruby's most important role in life was taking care of her family.  In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing and playing Bingo.

Survivors include three sons, Jerome Grogan of East Prairie, William "Marty" Grogan, II of Wyatt, MO and Michael Grogan of East Prairie; one daughter, Edith Otterstrom of East Prairie; two brothers, Chuck Merryman and Jerry Merryman, both of East Prairie; two sisters, Ruth Coleman of East Prairie and Mary Vines of Wyatt; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Kayla, Dustin, Emily, Aubree and Bradlee; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two brothers, John Merryman and Henry Merryman; four sisters, Loni Blasingain, Rosie Merryman, Elva Faye Merryman and Minnie Wheatley; and four grandchildren, Shanna Nichole, Shawn Anthony, Abigail and Caitlyn.

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 30, 2023, at 1 p.m. at East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Joe Graham, Glenn David Merryman, Gary Graham, Marty Grogan, Tyler Witty, Kelley Carter and William "Marty" Grogan II.
