Robert Wayne Lutes, age 71, passed away, Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at his home in Sikeston.

He was born November 16, 1950, in Sikeston to the late Jimmie Lutes and Elsie (Benton) Lutes.  He served and received an honorable discharge from the United States Army, and before retiring worked for the C & K Lumber Company in Sikeston. He was married to Sandy Cauthorn Lutes, who preceded him in death.

He was a wonderful husband and loved his family dearly.  He was an avid member of the V.F.W and volunteered regularly on every Tuesday and Thursday, and when he was not there, you could find him with a smile on his face having breakfast with his friends at Bo's BBQ.

He is survived by two sons, Terry Lambert and Robbie (April) Lambert both of Sikeston; one daughter Melinda Lambert (Kevin) Kirkpatrick of Sikeston; three brothers Larry Lutes of Hickory, NC, Ronnie (Anita) Lutes of East Prairie, MO, and Gary (Lois) Lutes of Morehouse, MO; a special friend Sandra Costin; eleven grandchildren, Brooke Lambert, Beth (Jason) McLemore, Logan Kirkpatrick, Taylor Kirkpatrick, Ryan Lambert, Zach (Lindsey) Moore, Kaiden Lambert, Sydney Lambert, Hayley (Kyle) Causey, and Kai (Michaela) Lambert; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Rikki Lambert, one grandson Nick Lambert, and one great grandchild Colton McLemore.

Visitation will be Monday, December 20, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., where the funeral will be Tuesday, December 21, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Bro. Joe McCullough will officiate.

Interment will follow at the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery with full Military Honors, under the direction of Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston.
