Robert (Bob) Val Hamby, age 92, of Sikeston, passed away on December 14, 2022, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born May 4, 1930, in Vanduser, MO, youngest son of the late William (Val) and Anna Tabor Hamby. Bob attended school in Vanduser until his enlistment in the United States Air Force in 1947. He was honorably discharged in 1950 and eventually returned to Missouri where he met his wife.

On May 29, 1953, in Pocahontas, AR, he Married Eualia Lawrence, and they were blessed with sixty-nine years of marriage. The couple had three children, Robert L. Hamby, Sheila M. Vaughan, and Gary W. Hamby. He began working as a long-haul truck driver in 1970 and receive many accolades throughout his career until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by Two children, Robert L. Hamby of Hilham, TN, and Sheila M. Vaughan of Sikeston, MO; Five grandchildren, Matthew Vaughan of Sikeston, Robby Hamby of South Fulton, TN, Sheila D. Boyer of Paducah, KY, Heather Hamby of Havelock,NC, and Ryan Hamby of Lebanon, TN; Five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four siblings, Bill Hamby, Velda McFarran, Ella Jean Richmond, and Jim Hamby and his son Gary Wayne Hamby.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. where the funeral services will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Interment will follow immediately at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Full Military Honors.

Memorial donations may be made in Robert's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
