Robert J. Carter, age 61 of East Prairie, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.  He was born October 29, 1963, in Phoenix, AZ, to the late Harold Carter and Gladys Wagner Carter.  Robert worked for Nathan's Auto in Sikeston, MO, for many years.  He was also a skilled mechanic.  He was a member of the East Prairie Volunteer Fire Department for over 15 years.  Robert loved playing pool and was awarded "Top Shooter" many times throughout the years.  He also enjoyed playing cards and camping, and loved spending time with his family taking cruises.

On January 25, 1985, in East Prairie, MO, he married Anna Finney Carter, who survives of the home.

Robert is also survived by one son, Billy (Mary) Mace of East Prairie; three daughters, Julie (Chuck) Williams, Crystal Linley, and Miranda Smith, all of East Prairie; one brother, Tony (Loretta) Carter of East Prairie; four sisters, Barbara (Ray) Lizenbee, Mary Ann Gammons, Michelle (Daniel) Griggs, all of East Prairie, and Needa (Steve) Bowling of Wyatt, MO; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Wayne Finney; one grandson, Jon Jay Carter; one brother, James Everette Carter; and one sister, Sandra Kay Carter.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the Shelby Chapel, with Bro. George White officiating.

Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimbo Taylor, Randy Hedges, Tim Johnson, Mark Gammons, Billy Myers, and Chris Chaplan.
