Richard Dale "Bub" Carden, age 48, of East Prairie, MO passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.  He was born February 17, 1977, in Charleston, MO to the late Roger Dale Carden and Linda Grissom Dillow, who survives of Scott City, MO.  Richard was employed as a farmhand for many years by Dicky Hanor, and for the past several years he worked as a mechanic for Ozarko Tire Center in Charleston.  He loved both fishing and hunting as well as watching movies.

Survivors include his beloved fiancé, Tonya Tucker; mother and stepfather, Linda and Jeffrey Dillow; sister and brother-in-law, Bethany and Jack Vanpool, Jr; stepbrother, David Dillow; stepsister, Ashley Dillow (Elke) Davis; his children, Austin (Tina) Tucker, Makenzie Husk and Makayla Husk; grandchildren, Jazmine Tucker and Jaylyn Perkins; and special nephews and nieces, Amber Hyde, Harlen Gaskins, Gunner Gaskins, Harlee Brooke Gaskins, Heather Jo Davenport,  Khaleesi Hyde, and Corbin Skelton.   Additional survivors include Troy Linley, who was like a brother to "Bub"; Jimmy Allen, who was a very special friend and mentor; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

In addition to his father, Roger Dale Carden, Richard was preceded in death by one grandchild, Nova Tucker.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 1 p.m. in the Shelby Chapel, with Bro. Jimmy Allen, pastor of Powerhouse of God Church in East Prairie, officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Vanpool, Jr., Harlen Gaskins, Gunner Gaskins, Troy Linley, Penny Grissom Pearson, Chris Ling, Terry Duty, Corbin Skelton, Lucas Grissom, John Davis, Brad Brewer, Steven Willis, Colin Grissom and Mikey Grissom.
