Ray Junior Dorris, age 91 of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Aspire Nursing Center in East Prairie.  He was born January 12, 1931, near Ellsinore, Missouri to the late William "Bud" Dorris and Nellie Davis Dorris.  He was a self-employed plumber for many years.  Ray had attended Victory Baptist Church and was a former member of the East Prairie Lions Club.  He loved playing his guitar and fishing.

He was married to Marie Palmer Dorris, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include:  four sons, Roy Lynn (Sharon) Dorris of Derby, Kansas, Jerry Joe Dorris, Michael Ray Dorris and Raymond Junior Dorris, all of East Prairie; two daughters, Glenda Sue Kenner of Okawville, Illinois and Tonya Marie Dorris of East Prairie; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.  The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Lee Matthews, his "little runnin" buddy.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife and parents; one son, Jackie Ray Dorris; three daughters, Rhonda Raye McAfee, Sharon Elaine Baker and Charlene Ray Dorris; four brothers, William Dorris, Glenn Dorris, Jim Dorris and Audie Gene Dorris; 4 sisters, Maxine Dorris, June Tune, Jeannie Laseter, Gladys Scott; and 3 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2023, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Bro. Sonny Jackson officiating.

Graveside committal service will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
