Phyllis Leigh Giles-Golightly, age 79 of Dorena, MO, passed away September 21, 2025 at Bertrand Nursing Facility in Bertrand, MO.

She was born December 20, 1945 in Cairo, IL, daughter of the late Robert David Giles and Loraine Lanier-Giles.

Phyllis grew up in Ballard County, KY before moving to Dorena, MO. She was a member of Dorena Baptist Church and enjoyed shopping, dancing, crafting, and spending time with her grandchildren.

On February 21, 1961 at Shawneetown, IL, she was married to Eddie Golightly, who preceded her in death.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by one son, Shane (Tami) Golightly of Fredricktown, MO; one daughter, Carol Beth Blumenberg of East Prairie, MO; two sisters Janet Price of Texas and Lisa Duckworth of LaCenter, KY; six grandchildren, Colton Blumenberg of East Prairie, MO, Deacon Blumenberg of East Prairie, MO, Josh Golightly of Sikeston, MO, Dalton Golightly of Fenton, MO, Austin Hightower of Fredricktown, MO and Michael Hawkins of Fredricktown, MO; her great-grandchildren, Ivee Blumenberg, Jack Golightly, and many other great-grandchildren; and special friends, Betty Williams and Jeanie Johnson.

Public visitation will be Saturday, October 4, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:30 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston MO.

Pastor Danny Kuykendall will be officiating the services.
