Obituary

Phillip (Phil) A. Brinson, 54, born November 28, 1967, to Lloyd Brinson and (late) Beverly (Dunlap) Brinson. He passed on December 19, 2021, at Barnes- Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., while surrounded by friends who loved him dearly.

Phil is survived by his father Lloyd, stepmother Nancy and brother Michael Brinson.

Phil received a Bachelor of Science in finance and pre-law at Southeast Missouri State University. Phil went on to become a successful business owner for over 20 years of Jeremiah's in Sikeston, Mo. The entrepreneur also opened Rufus Mudsuckers and Buckner Brewing Co. in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Phil was baptized and became a member of La Croix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. His demonstrated love for God and mankind led him to serve on the La Croix Emergency Response Team, Samaritans Purse and Missionary work with his church family. Phil participated in the Big Brother program and trained several service dogs. One of his many passions was taking flying lessons.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at La Croix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau at 5:30 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow immediately after at Port Cape Restaurant in Cape Girardeau.

A second Celebration of Life will be held at Jeremiah's in Sikeston on January 6, 2022 from 6-9 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to La Croix UMC Missions, Samaritans Purse, or a charity of your choice.
