Brenda "Pauline" Carter, age 76, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at her home in East Prairie, MO. She was born May 17, 1950, in Mississippi County, MO, to the late Johnny Boyer and Imogene Prince Boyer, and was a homemaker. She was a graduate of East Prairie High School and a member of First General Baptist Church in East Prairie.  Pauline loved shopping, but her pride and joy was her dog, Stormy.

On November 14, 1977, in Union City, TN, she married Dennis Carter, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are two sons, Michael (Kristy) Martin of Marble Hill, MO and Hoyt Carter (Cheryl Grogan) of East Prairie; and one granddaughter, Aubrie Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Larry Boyer; and one sister, Sue Gurley.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. at East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.  Brandon Tanksley, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.  Caudle-Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie is in charge of services.

Pallbearers will be Michael Martin, Hoyt Carter, Jonathan Allred and Richard Loomis.
