Ruthie Paulette (Paula) Melton, age 77, of Arlington, KY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Countryside Center for Rehab and Nursing Facility.

Paula was of the Pentecostal faith.  She loved cooking for her family and church functions.  Paula enjoyed watching Gaither Homecoming videos and Jimmy Swaggart Ministries.  She loved her grandbabies and her great-grandbabies.

Survivors include three children, Tim (Patty) Melton and Crystal (Allen) Cox both of Clinton, KY, and Kim (Joe) Hughes of Elkville, IL; six grandchildren, Brittany James of Highlandville, MO, Lacie Melton, Katie Cravens, and Hunter (Rachel) Cox all of Clinton, KY, Maddie (Zach) Chaney of DeSoto, IL and Lauren (Christian) Johnson of Paducah, KY; ten great-grandchildren, Braxton, Bentley, Colton Melton, Easton Cox, Anderson, Adleigh, Blakeleigh, and Brookson Cox all of Clinton, KY, Aurora Chaney of DeSoto, IL, and Delilah Johnson of Paducah, KY; four brothers, Joe (Carlotta) Watson, and Earl (Leslie) Sisk both of Sikeston, MO, Bill White and Teddy (Nika) Sisk both of East Prairie, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Paula was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, J.T. Melton; her son, Terrance Melton; her mother, Marie Watson-Sisk and stepfather, Raymond Sisk; one brother, Phillip Sisk; and one sister, Bobby Gail Jenkins.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 17, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home.  Dwight White will officiate.

Interment will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Cox, Tim Melton, Lacie Melton, Zach Chaney, Bubby Gammons, and  Aaron Eskridge.  Honorary pallbearer will be Christian Johnson.
