Patricia Eakins-Newman, age 81, passed away August 25, 2026 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO.

She was born December 25, 1944 in Cape Girardeau, MO, daughter of the late Paul R. Eakins and Laura Louise Dittlinger-Eakins.

Patricia was a member of the Illinois Avenue Baptist Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher. She was a realtor and business owner before retiring. She enjoyed quilting, bird watching, and her pets. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life.

On January 18, 1991 she was married to James D. Newman, he preceded her in death on November 6, 2019.

She is survived by one son, Christopher (Lynn) Carlisle; one daughter, Susan (Brian) Cooper; one brother, Randy (Melissa) Eakins; her grandchildren, Garrett Cooper, Kelsie (Jeffrey) Nickell, Casey Carlisle, and Hannah Cooper; a greatgrandchild Cooper Nickell. A special appreciation for her sister-in-law, Melissa and her neighbor and friend Donna Merideth, for helping her in her final months.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Eakins.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 29, from 12:00 noon until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at Caudle Funeral Home in Sikeston, MO, with a private interment at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
