Opal Hamilton, age 90 of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born July 31, 1932, in East Prairie, to the late Raymond Lee Jackson and Mary Icelene Farris Jackson. Opal was a longtime member of First Church of God in East Prairie. She was a homemaker and had been a caregiver for her parents. She also enjoyed her time working in the East Prairie School System as a "Grandmother" for many years.

She was married to Vernon Hamilton, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Carolyn Patterson, Beverly Coy, Janet Bennett, Marlesia Wallace, Rebecca West, Raymond Lee, Mike Jackson, Jeff Lee and Tim Lee.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Arthur Harrison, Bill Harrison and Tom Jackson; two sisters, Lena Jackson Coy and Anne Jackson Lee; and three nephews, John Lee, Steve Coy and David Harrison.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie.
