Tatum
June 28, 1942 – April 6, 2023
Norma "Jeannie" Tatum, age 80, a lifelong resident of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born June 28, 1942, in Wolf Island, Missouri to the late Will Morris and Gertie Mae Colvin Morris, and was a 1960 graduate of Anniston High School. Jeannie was self-employed as the owner of Tatum's Storage and Tatum's Pecan Cracking. She was of Baptist belief.
On June 11, 1965, in East Prairie she married Ronald Tatum, who preceded her in death April 15, 2013.
She is survived by two daughters, Sara Walters (Bobby Tripp) of East Prairie and Jennifer (Keith) Grissom of East Prairie; three brothers, Leroy Morris of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Will (Janet) Morris Jr. of Scott City, Missouri and Jerry (Carol) Morris of Dogwood, Missouri; and one sister, Berniece Armstrong (Doug Sensing) of Waverly, Tennessee. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Ben and Lauren Walters, Blake and Raelyn Smithson and Abby and Chick Lyons, all of East Prairie; her great grandchildren, Carly Walters, Kylynn Lyons, Grayson Walters, Ella Lyons, Landon Lyons and Kristen Berry; many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Willie Catt, Frances Grissom and Bessie Morris.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at First Church of God in East Prairie, with Pastor Dawn Walters officiating.
Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ben Walters, Blake Smithson, Chick Lyons, Steve Irby, Todd Armstrong and Chris Morris.
