Obituary

Norma Sue Bain, age 84 of East Prairie, MO, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO.  She was born November 30, 1940, in New Madrid County, MO, to the late John Herman Bain and Lillie Mae McMurtry Bain and was a 1958 graduate of Anniston High School.  She was employed as a bookkeeper for Delta Growers as well as Hogan's Farm & Home Center, where she worked for over twenty years.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie.  Norma Sue loved trips to Nashville, especially to the Grand Ole Opry, and going to Branson.  She always enjoyed meeting her friends for lunch.

Survivors include four nephews, seven nieces, as well as many great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, O.C. Bain, George Bain, and John Herman Bain, Jr.; five sisters, Bealus Summerlot, Mary Bain, Annie Bain, Nellie Ponder, and Retha Bain; one nephew and two nieces.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 noon at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.  Pastors Dawn Walters and George White will officiate.

Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tony Childers, Jay Childers, Jerry Bain, Jimbo Taylor, Jim Speights, and Billy Rose.
