Nora Mae Moss-Northern, age 94, passed away June 6, 2024 at Hunter Acres Nursing Center.

She was born February 15, 1930 in Farrenburg, MO, daughter of the late James Madison Moss and Mattie Mae Poole Moss.

Nora was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Bertrand, MO, the Miner Women's Fire Association, and the Miner Election Board.  She was active in church: she taught Sunday School, ran the nursery, and sang in the choir.  She loved playing the piano, sewing, painting, and artwork.  She had worked as an in-home health care nurse before retiring.

She was married to Roy Alford Northern for 51 years before his death.

She is survived by one son, Tony (Nancy) Northern of Sikeston, MO; three daughters, JoAnn Northern and Paula Shaver both of Sikeston, MO, and Tammie (Dave) Bennett of Vass, NC; two sisters, Phyllis Hepler of Herculaneum, MO and Judy Mcgehee of Hillsboro, MO; 9 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Al Northern and Stanley Northern; one daughter, Vickie Manns; one grandson; and three granddaughters.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid, MO.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Roy Northern, Brian Dover, Amanda Thorne, Eric Northern, Daniel Gilmore, Andrea Shaver, Ty Northern, and Keith Northern.
