Nellie Ruth Triplett, age 83 of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Aspire Senior Living Center in East Prairie.  She was born November 29, 1939, in Ridgeway, Illinois, to the late A.D. Woods and Matilda Trousdale Woods.  She was employed for a number of years at Brown Shoe Co. in Charleston and later at Stark Manufacturing Co. until her retirement.  Nellie's life was centered around her family, as she was most happy when spending time with them.  She was of Christian belief.

On September 29, 1956, in Corinth, Mississippi, she married J.E. "Soakie" Triplett, who preceded her in death June 16, 2016.

Survivors include two sons, Greg (Monnie) Triplett and James (Melissa) Triplett, all of East Prairie; two grandchildren, Colten (Madelyn) Triplett and Brie Triplett (Kevin Potts), all of Huntsville, Alabama; one great grandchild, Wrenleigh Triplett; one brother, Steve Feagans of Wardell, Missouri; several half-brothers and one half-sister.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nellie was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Williamson and Nina Spurgeon.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 30, 2023, beginning at 12 noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Pastor Dawn Walters officiating.

Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Greg Triplett, Colten Triplett, Kevin Triplett, Kevin Potts, Larry Ivie and Stanley Triplett.
