Nancy Hedges, age 67, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022, at her home in East Prairie, Missouri.  She was born April 4, 1955, in Sikeston, Missouri to the late Edward Wheatley and Mildred Johnson Wheatley.  Nancy enjoyed playing cards, dining out in her favorite restaurants, sewing, shopping, and she loved her dogs.  She was of Baptist belief.

She married Randy Hedges in August of 1994, and he survives of the home.

Nancy is also survived by one son, Brian Merryman of East Prairie; two daughters, Lori (Scott) Pazdera of Charleston, Missouri and Amy (Wayne) Sneeringer of East Prairie; one brother, George Kirby of East Prairie; and one sister, Ruth (Eugene) Burns of East Prairie.  Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Tayler Smith, Megan McKinney, Emily Staggs, Cody Smith, Zack Edwards, Brianna Merryman, Brian Merryman Jr., Allie Edwards and Cooper Oatsvall; and her great grandchildren, Anna Smith, Casen Caery, Cameron McKinney, Carson Edwards, Mary Kate McKinney, Liam Warren and Emma Edwards.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur Wheatley, Harley Wheatley, Billy Wheatley and John Kirby; and nine sisters, Laverne Chandler, Francis Hunter, Lois Ruth Wheatley, Cora Moore, Dora Shull, Betty Rose Wheatley, Marie Woods, Birdie Merryman and Bonnie Brown.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Bro. Martin Lucas officiating.

Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Scott Pazdera, Cody Smith, Michael Burns, Bobby Wheatley, Jason Brown and Dale Hedges.
