Modena M. Skaggs, age 95, passed away on December 26, 2025, at the Bertrand Nursing Center in Bertrand, Missouri. She was born on February 26, 1930, in East Prairie, Missouri, to the late William and Mary Adams Fleming.

Modena was united in marriage to Robert Skaggs, who preceded her in death in 2008.

She worked for many years as a seamstress, a trade that reflected her patience and skill. Modena and her husband also owned and operated a furniture business for several years. She had a deep appreciation for antiques and enjoyed collecting them. Most of all, Modena cherished her family-especially her grandchildren, who loved spending time at her home and creating lasting memories with her. She was a faithful member of the Church of God in East Prairie, Missouri.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Bud) Hendrix, Pamela Jean Allred, and Sheila Burns; one sister, Linda Codgill; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m . , with funeral services following, on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Church of God in East Prairie, Missouri.

Burial will follow at East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery in East Prairie, Missouri.
