Mildred Ruth Wiley-Bolden, age 83 of East Prairie, Missouri passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Aspire Senior Living Center in East Prairie. She was born September 13, 1939, in Livingston County, Kentucky to the late Truman A. Wiley and Florence Evalyne Lynch Wiley. Mildred had lived in Paducah, Kentucky before moving to East Prairie and was a member of Gospel Assembly Church. She was employed at Florsheim Shoe Co. for 39 years and later worked as a dietician for 7 years before retiring. She loved her church and enjoyed spending time with family, especially her granddaughter. Her favorite job of all was being a mother and grandmother.
She was married to Bro. James Bolden, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Patty Ann Valentine-Henderson of East Prairie; her granddaughter, Sydnie Shea Warford of East Prairie; cousin, Rev. Encil Edmonds; many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her grandparents, Thomas Edward Lynch and Cora Beshears-Lynch; and two sisters, Betty Ann Wiley and Mary Louise Long.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 21, 2023, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Rev. Encil Edmonds and Pastor Dawn Walters officiating.
Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jake Holt, William Gibson, Kevin Walters, David Dahlbeck, Mark Helton and Wayne Andrews.
