Michael Jefferson Sherrod, age 35, passed away September 14, 2023 at his home in Sikeston, Missouri.

He was born August 5, 1988 in Sikeston, son of Charles Eddy Sherrod and Sondra Lee Dykes-Haynes.

Michael was artistic, he loved hunting, fishing, and riding on country roads with his dad.
He was baptized into the Christian faith April 16, 2023.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his son, Ryder.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Ryder Lee Estes; one brother, Dallas (Sarah) Sherrod; two sisters, Jennifer (Joe Smith) Jayne and Sarah (Duke) Wheat; one stepsister, Jackie Sherrod; four nephews, Ryan Brannigan, Owen Wheat, Gage Taylor, and Jaden Liggett; and four nieces, Madeline Sherrod, Sammie Brannigan, Lainey Sherrod, and Abbie Wheat; and extended family, Bill Estes and Karen Dockins.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Christopher Lee Haynes; his grandparents, Leroy & Cora Dykes and J.D. and Virginia Sherrod; stepmother, Connie Sherrod; one nephew, Riley Wheat; and special friend, Valerie Estes.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made for funeral costs.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 20, from 11:00 a.m. util time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in the Sikeston Garden of Memories Cemetery.
