Melody Kay Faulkner, age 62, passed away August 27, 2024 at her home in Cape Girardeau, MO.

She was born April 3, 1962 in Sikeston, MO, daughter of the late Johnny Simpkins and Mary Baker Simpkins.  She had worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant at Sikeston Convalescent Center.

Melody was a Devout Christian, a member of Discover Life of Cape Girardeau.  She most enjoyed sewing, quilting, watching hummingbirds, spending time with her family, and vacationing in the summer at Gatlinburg, TN.

She enjoyed caring for people and was an honorary mother to many.

On January 29, 2016 at the First General Baptist Church of Bloomfield, MO she was married to Kevin Thomas Faulkner who survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Nicholas (Brooke) Barber of Jonesboro, AR, Colby Simpkins of Jackson, MO and Scotti (Malinda) Rankin of Charleston, MO; one sister, Pamela Jackovic of Starkville, MS; five grandchildren, Hunter, Ashton, Blakely, Gauge, and River; and close friend, Clara Thomas.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, MO. Friday, September 6th, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
