Lofton-Clay
December 21, 1960 – April 25, 2025
Mary Carol Lofton-Clay, age 64, formerly of East Prairie, MO, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at her home in Marston, MO. She was born December 21, 1960, in Hickman, KY, to the late Hershel Clark Cobb and Ida Christine Vaughn Cobb. Mary was a homemaker and also was employed by Bootheel In-Home Care for 17 years. She loved her dogs, first raising Little Bit, and later caring for her precious Geilli.
On June 23, 1995, in New Madrid, she married Larry Nelson Lofton, who preceded her in death January 1, 2017. She later married Calvin Joe Clay on November 10, 2024, who survives.
Additional survivors include her sons, Larry Lofton, Jr. (April), of Bridgeport, NE, Billy Lofton (Tanya), of Sikeston, MO, Adam Lofton (Tiffany) of Sikeston, MO, and Rudy Lofton (Brianna) of Morehouse, MO; her daughters, Hannah Cobb of Marston, MO, Ann Marie Cobb of Marion, KY, Rhonda Lofton of Immokalee, FL, Deborah (Roger) Tidwell of Huntsville, AL, Stacy Latham (Greg) of Benton, MO, and Jamie Jackson of Sikeston, MO; one sister, Brenda Courtois of New Madrid, MO; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as old classmates from East Prairie High School and many friends.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Candi Cook.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 2, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Bro. Jimmy Allen, pastor of Power House of God, officiating.
Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Lofton, Larry Lofton, Adam Lofton, Margel Boles, David Cobb, and Tony Higgins.
