Martha Francis "Fran" Nelson, 66, passed away on August 20, 2022, in Defiance, MO.

Fran Nelson was born on August 12, 1956 in Sikeston, MO, to Edmund Morgan and Mary Ann Morgan.

She graduated from East Prairie High School in 1974. She worked at the Sikeston Country Club as a Food and Beverage Manager.

Fran and Delano "Leno" Nelson married in 1974. The couple had 2 children, Nora Gibson and Delena Conway.

Fran was best known for her beautiful quilts, her love of Christmas, her laughter and being a loyal friend.

She is survived by Nora Gibson - daughter, Delena Conway - daughter, Huston Gibson - son-in-law, Brian Conway - son-in-law, Chess Gibson - grandson, Hyde Gibson - grandson, Eden Conway - granddaughter, Briar Conway - granddaughter.

Martha is preceded in death by Edmund Morgan - father, Mary Ann Morgan - mother, Nancy Anderson - sister, Edmund Gale Morgan - brother

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 7, from 10:00 am. until time of funeral service at 11:00 am at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, MO.

Graveside to follow at the IOOF Cemetery in Charleston, MO.

Memorial donations can be made in Martha's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
