Martha Lou Skelton Lee, age 82, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, at her home in East Prairie, Missouri.  She was  born January 14, 1942, in Portageville, Missouri, to the late Wilburn Skelton and Imogene Fisher Skelton.  She was a homemaker and member of New Beginnings Church in East Prairie.  Martha enjoyed riding her bicycle, playing Bingo, and dancing.  Her family knew her to be a "Spitfire", and she was a courageous, independent, caring and loving woman.

She was married to Pete Lee, who preceded her in death.

Martha is survived by two brothers, Vernon Dewayne Skelton of East Prairie and Charlie Thomas Caldwell of Labadie, Missouri; five sisters, Shirley Ann Smith of East Prairie, Paulette Gifford of Perryville, Missouri, Alice Marie Skelton of Warrenton, Missouri, Brenda Kay Peterson (Kenny) of Blytheville, AR, and Barbara Sue Amick of Gosnell, Arkansas.   Also surviving is a special great niece, Miranda Smith; her caregiver, Laura Revelle; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by six brothers, Charles Edward Skelton, Stanley Henry Skelton, Ricky Dewayne Skelton, Clyde George Caldwell, Ronnie Dale Caldwell, and Billy Joe Skelton; and two sisters, Mary Virginia Skelton and Sally Lorene Skelton.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2024, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.  Bro. Randy Eskew, pastor of New Beginnings Church, will officiate.

Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Alice Skelton, Clayton Moore, Lynn Brewer, Brad Brewer, Dalton Douglas, and Robert Douglas.
