Margaret S. Sutton, age 90, passed away March 29, 2025 at Cotton Point Living Center in Matthews, MO.

She was born February 15, 1935 in South Fulton, TN, daughter of the late Charles Franklin Cloys and Eula Rose Jackson-Seay.

Margaret was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Matthews and the Order of the Eastern Star. She had worked as a private in-home caregiver before retiring. She enjoyed quilt-making, working in her flower garden, and being with her kids and grandkids. She loved riding around; she would want to go for a ride even if it was only a 2-minute trip. She loved music and always had a record playing in the house.

In May of 1949, she was married to George Marcus Sutton, he preceded her in death December 8, 2011.

She is survived by one son, Mark Sutton of New Madrid, MO; three daughters, Margie Maddox of Sikeston, MO, Mary (Jimmy) Pearson of Sikeston, MO, and Pam Hurd of Mt. Juliet, TN; one sister, Orene Hatton of Paducah, KY; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Sutton; two brothers, Lonnie Seay and James Seay; one sister, Shirley Cloys; two sons-in-law, Tom Maddox and Brad Hurd; and one brother-in-law, George Hatton.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 1, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, MO.

Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. at Sikeston Garden of Memories Cemetery.
