Margaret Ann Linn, age 55, passed away June 6, 2024 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO.
She was born September 8, 1968 in Hayti, MO, daughter of Terry Lloyd Hawkins and the late Peggy Richards Hawkins.
Margaret received a Double Major in Computer Science & Mathematics from Southwest Baptist University, a Teaching Certificate from SEMO, and a Masters in Educational Technology from Mizzou. She spent 28 years teaching – first at Mount View Birch Tree Liberty for 8 years, then Marshfield for one year, taught at Mercy Hospital for the Epic Program for 2 years, Branson High School for 3 years, and Chadwick for 14 years until her retirement.
She loved decorating and designing for Proms, Graduations, Homecomings, and other school celebrations. Her students were her children: she taught thousands of students over the 28 years of her career.
On August 31, 1996 she was married to her best friend, Charles Theodore 'Ted' Linn of Springfield, MO. He survives at the home of his father-in-law in Lilbourn, MO.
Other survivors include her father, Terry Hawkins of Lilbourn, MO; one "surrogate daughter", Juliane Lauren McGill-Altman (Goel Altman) of Strafford, MO; one brother, Dwayne Hawkins (Samantha Cartwright) of Sikeston, MO; five nephews; two nieces; one great-nephew; one great-niece; and countless students across Southern Missouri over the last 30 years.
Including her mother she was proceeded in death by her sister-in-law Christy Hawkins.
There will be a visitation held Sunday, June 9, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral services at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lilbourn, MO. Rev. Alan Nichols will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery at Lilbourn, MO.
Pallbearers will be Logan Hawkins, Landon Hawkins, Dewayne Hawkins, Goel Altman, Shawn Frazier, Nicholas Gaither, Rodd Tapelt, and Zack Johnson.
Please, no carnation flowers whatsoever. Purple was her favorite color.
