Obituary

Mandie Keene, age 44, a resident of East Prairie, MO, passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, at her home. She was born June 30, 1982, in Sikeston, MO, to Charlie Keene and Sheryl Garrett Keene, who survive of East Prairie. She was a high school graduate and also obtained her associate’s degree. Amanda was employed by Susanna Wesley for four years, serving as a victim’s advocate, until ill health forced her retirement. Mandie had a profound love of music. She also enjoyed reading books and loved fashion. She especially cherished her time serving as a victim’s advocate and took great pride in her work, always willing to help others.

In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, David McElfresh of the home; three sons, Hayden Barnard, Rylan McElfresh and Sutton McElfresh, all of the home; one sister, Nikole Leighann Keene of East Prairie; her grandparents, Barbara Garrett of East Prairie and Les Keene of Barlow, KY; aunts and uncles, Marsha Keene of Barlow, KY, Richard Garrett of East Prairie, and Harry (Rhonda) Brack of East Prairie; her father and mother-in-law, Barb Becker of Pacific, MO and Richard (Debbie) McElfresh of St. Clair, MO; two brothers-in-law, Andy (M’Shaun) Lamb of Amarillo, TX and Jeff (Anna) McElfresh of Bland, MO; one sister-in-law, Rebecca Jones of St. Clair, MO; nieces and nephews, Dylan Grace Keene, Kati McElfresh, Cyndy Jones, Audra Lamb, and Jensen Lamb; and a host of relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Dillon Leslie Keene, on July 20, 2013. Also preceding her in death were her grandparents, Micki and Jim Smith, and Junior Wallace; and her grandfather and grandmother-in-law, Robert McElfresh and Dena McElfresh.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 2:00 pm. until 4:00 p.m. at Caudle-Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, MO. A eulogy service by family and friends will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Caudle-Shelby Chapel.
