Lucy Marie Day, age 73, passed away March 15, 2024 at the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, MO.

She was born September 26, 1950 in East Prairie, MO, daughter of the Troy Duke and Fay Hopper-Duke.

Lucy was a member of Olive Branch General Baptist Church in Essex, MO and had worked for National Lock before retiring.

On November 3, 1979, she was married to JR Day who preceded her in death June 18, 2019.

Survivors include two stepsons, Dale (Linda) Day of Morehouse, MO and Hosea (Lisa) Day of Clarkton, MO; two stepdaughters, Carol Hughes of Cabot, AR and Debbie Morris of Dexter, MO; three brothers, Harold (Sue) Duke, Earl (Linda) Duke, and Larry (Louise) Duke; five sisters, Martha (Thomas) Jackson, Barbara (Dudley) Hamilton, Louise (Ray) Clark, Brenda (Tim) Cranford, and Sue Ziegenhorn Williams; 19 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation held Thursday, March 21, from 12 noon until time of memorial services at 1:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Dudley Hamilton, pastor of Olive Branch General Baptist Church, will officiate.
