Obituary

Lucretia Stanley, age 78, passed away June 19, 2026 at her home in Sikeston, MO.

She was born March 31, 1948 in Malden, MO, daughter of the late Violes Murel McElvoy and Ruby Mae Cluck-McElvoy.

Lucretia was a member of The Sanctuary for 10 years. She and her husband were youth ministers with the First Pentecost Church of Malden and the Christian Tabernacle for many years. She had been a hand packer for Unilever 18 years before retiring. She loved traveling, baking, and decorating. She enjoyed hosting events.

On March 8, 1968 at Malden, MO she was married to Tommy Stanley, he survives of the home in Sikeston.

She is also survived by two sons, Michael (Robin) Stanley and David Neil; four grandchildren, Ryan Amber, Ashley, and Zoe; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Lucretia was preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin McElvoy, Jack McElvoy, Udell McElvoy, and Kenneth McElvoy.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, from 4:00 p.m. until funeral services at 6:00 p.m. at The Sanctuary, 1506 N. Main, Sikeston, MO. Pastor Jay Teague will officiate.

A graveside committal service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, at 11:00 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.
