Linda Diane Skelton, age 67, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022, at her home in Sikeston, Missouri.  She was born November 9, 1954, in East Prairie, Missouri to the late Harry Smith and Helen Myers Smith.  Linda loved flower gardening as well as racing in motorsports.  She was employed by Jeffers Motorsports near Sikeston for over 20 years.  She was of Baptist faith.

On December 8, 1972, in East Prairie, she married Ricky Dewayne Skelton, who preceded her in death on October 9, 1996.

Survivors include one son, Ricky (Elizabeth) Skelton of Kelso, Missouri; two daughters, Loretta (Monte) Barnhill of Cunningham, Kentucky and Julie (Paul) Chance of Sikeston, Missouri; and one sister, Darlene Scott of Anniston, Missouri.  Also surviving are a host of grandchildren, Ricky (Jordan) Skelton, Jr., Ashton Skelton, Ryan (Hannah) Lohmann, Tyler (Lisa) Williams, Kayla (Layton) Yardbrough, Jeana Williams, Justin (Brandie) Chance, Paul (Megan) Chance and Abby Chance; step grandchildren, Carly, Kasey, Hailey and Jamie; and great grandchildren, Carson, Kinsley, Kolten, Kamdyn, William, Ava, Leddie, Josie, Jessy, Layla, Aubree, Phoenix, Eli, Peyton and Ameila.

In addition to her husband and parents, Linda was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Smith and James Smith; and one sister, Sandra Lay.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 18, 2022, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Bro. Martin Lucas officiating.

Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Justin Chance, "Little Paul" Chance, Ashton Skelton, Tyler Williams, Delbert Marriott and Ronnie Williams.
