Linda Carroll Blissett-Smith departed this life on Friday, March 22nd at the University of Missouri Columbia Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
She was born on April 15, 1956 in Earle, Arkansas to the late Johnnie and Maybelle Blissett. Linda graduated from Scott County Central High School in 1974. She later graduated from Cosmetology School in Sikeston, Missouri.
Linda had a strong foundation and faith in Christ. She was a wonderful mother to her two sons, Marcus and Todd Blissett. She loved them fiercely and was so proud to be their mother.
In November of 2005, Linda and Deronce Pete Smith were wed at Divine Temple. Pete and Linda loved to travel together to visit family. Linda worked at Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center. She retired in 2023 after 19 years of service.
Linda had a bold personality and presence. She loved to laugh and spend time with her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking. One of Linda's favorite hobbies was taking care of her plants. She enjoyed life and believed in giving thanks to God for her life's blessings. Linda embraced her role of being a grandmother. One of her greatest joys was spending time with them. She loved them and spoiled them any chance that she could.
Linda is survived by her Husband Deronce Pete Smith, Fulton, MO; Sons, Marcus Blissett and Todd Blissett of Sikeston, MO; Step-daughter, Latoya Griffin Chicago IL; Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Siblings Johnnie (Betty) Blissett, Bowling Green, KY; Mary Bean of Sikeston, MO; Joseph (Barbara) Blissett, Bowling Green, KY; Betty Blissett, Oran MO; BJ (Dorothy) Blissett Sikeston, MO; Charles Blissett, Cape Girardeau, MO; Michael (Kimberley) Blissett, Oran, MO; Frank (Dione) Blissett, Sikeston, MO; Phillip (Florella) Blissett, Oran, MO; Virginia Blissett, Oran, MO; Lee Blissett, Oran, MO; Douglas (Tonia) Blissett, Sikeston, MO; JoAnn Blissett (Darrell) Sikeston, MO; Sister-in-law, Mary Blissett, Oran, MO; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held at Divine Temple Church of God, 22359 US Hwy 61, Oran, MO on Saturday, April 6th. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Blissett Memorial Gardens in Oran, MO.
