Leona Corine Phillips, age 100, formerly of East Prairie, MO passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at her home in Rolla, MO.  She was born July 20, 1924, in Anniston, MO to the late Omar Jenkins and Ella Pepper Jenkins.  Leona was employed for numerous years by Meramec Home Health of Rolla.  Following her retirement, she worked twenty years for Senior Companions of Rolla.  She was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Dogwood.  She was an avid reader, and loved reading all the Harry Potter books several times. She also enjoyed quilting.  She loved continuing to educate herself and became a Real Estate Broker.  She also enrolled in computer courses and accounting classes in her golden years.

On May 14, 1943, she married Marion Phillips, who preceded her in death May 11, 1991.

Leona is survived by one daughter, Nancy Hovelson of Rolla, MO; two sons, Marion Dale (Sharon) Phillips of Sedalia, MO and Kenneth (Lona) Phillips of Salem, MO; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren; and the partner of her deceased son, James Pickering of Rolla, MO.

In addition to her husband, Leona was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Phillips, four brothers and five sisters.

A family graveside service will be held May 14, 2025 at Dogwood Cemetery where she will be buried beside her husband, Marion.
