Leon Martin Vines, age 70, passed away August 29, 2024 at his home in East Prairie, MO.

He was born February 15,1954 in East Prairie, MO son of the late Walter Lee Vines and Eliza Ann Nolen Vines.

Leon was a farm hand for Jackson Aviation.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also loved spending time with and being around his family.

On December 11, 1973, he married Janet Vines, she survives of the home in East Prairie, MO.

Other survivors include one son, Joel Vines of East Prairie, MO; two daughters, Lisa Vines of San Antonio, TX and Julie (Ali) Williams of Sterling Heights, MI; one brother, Walter Vines Jr. of Wyatt, MO; one sister, Nancy of Bertrand, MO; and four grandchildren, Timothy Vines, Andrew Vines, Mason Vines, and Trenton Williams.

In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by  three brothers, Lloyd, Ernie, and Perry; four sisters, Alberti, Altheis, Eva, and Ethel; and one grandchild, Santina Vines.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 3, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 10:00 a.m. at Shelby Funeral Home. Eric McGruder will officiate.

Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston, MO.
