William Lee Matthews, age 53, of East Prairie, MO, passed away February 13, 2026, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born September 11, 1972, in Mississippi County, MO, to Mary Frances Counts Matthews and the late Everett Julian Matthews. Lee enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, and especially enjoyed camping with his grandkids.

Survivors include his significant other, Tonya Dorris of the home; one son, Hunter Lee Matthews; one stepson, Tyler Blake Dorris; two brothers, Anthony Matthews and Jayson Matthews; two sisters, Teresa (Jeff) Morgan and Delina (Todd) Woods; and four grandchildren, Dalton, Nathaniel, Jaxon, and Benjamin.

In addition to his father, Lee was preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie Matthews and Terry Counts; and one sister, Lesa Matthews.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. at the East Prairie Church of God Family Life Center.  All family and friends are invited to attend.
