Mr. Larry Joe Hornback, a distinguished pilot and lifelong resident of Sikeston, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024.
Born on December 26, 1945, Larry's life was profoundly shaped by his love for his family and his dedicated career in aviation.
Larry was the son of Mr. G.S. Hornback and Mrs. Lucille Hornback, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Hornback, and his son, Charles Hornback. His legacy endures through his four cherished grandchildren: Amanda Fahrni, Jacob Fahrni, Estella Hornback, and Hayden Hornback. Larry is also survived by his brother, Allen Hornback, his sister, Sharon Bryant, and numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Larry enjoyed a career as a highly skilled pilot for over 30 years, navigating the skies with precision and dedication. Despite his professional accomplishments, his greatest joy came from his family. His love for his children, grandchildren, and extended family was boundless, and his devotion to them was the cornerstone of his life.
A visitation will be held at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, MO, on Saturday, September 7th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring and remembering Larry.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Larry's honor.
