Kylin May
Ortego
Jan 19, 2009 — Jul 27, 2026
Kylin May Ortego, age 17, passed away at her home in Sikeston, Missouri, on July 27, 2026.
She was born on January 19, 2009, in Rogers, Arkansas. Kylin spent most of her life in Bentonville, Arkansas, for a short time she vacationed in Pine Barrens, New Jersey while soaking up the sun at the beach with her friends, before moving to Sikeston, Missouri.
Kylin was a wonderful young lady who was full of life and brought joy to those around her. She had a vibrant personality and found happiness in the little things. She loved spicy foods, boba tea, matcha, and sneaking her dad's favorite snacks whenever she had the chance. A true girly girl, Kylin's favorite color was pink, though she found beauty in every color.
She enjoyed being pampered and loved long, relaxing baths, spa days, and always smelling her best. Kylin had a passion for traveling and cherished the memories she made exploring new places with those she loved. She had recently discovered a love for photography and quickly developed a remarkable talent for capturing the beauty of the world through her camera lens.
Kylin was an avid collector who treasured rocks, slime, Play-Doh, squishies, trinkets, and countless keepsakes, including a special rock from the Grand Canyon. She loved dressing up, watching anime, and expressing her creativity in everything she did. Her kind heart, adventurous spirit, and artistic eye.
Above all, Kylin was a beautiful soul whose kindness, laughter, and loving spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Though her time on earth was far too short, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
She is survived by her loving parents, James A. Ferry and Rebecca W. Ferry; brothers and sister Jacob Roger Ortego, Kyla C. Buchanan, and Logan James Ferry; and her beloved dog, Pumpkin, who was a constant companion.
She is preceded in death by grandparents, Arthur Eugene Whittington, Anne B Whittington, and Pearl T Ferry, and uncles Darryl Eugene Whittington and Charles Duane Whittington.
There are no services scheduled at this time. A celebration of Kylin's life will be held at a later date.
