Kenneth Grindstaff, age 98, passed away October 15, 2024 at his home in Sikeston, MO.
He was born July 8, 1926 in Illinois, son of the late Elton and Laura Bristol Grindstaff.
He was married to Janet Kay Grindstaff, she preceded him in death October 16, 2003.
Kenneth was a veteran, he served 4 years in the US Navy and 23 years in the US Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He served in WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War. He then worked and later retired from McDonnel Douglas as a shop steward.
He was a lifelong member of the V.F.W. and enjoyed spending time there until Covid stopped him from going. He was a very opinionated person. There is a long list of stories that tell how onery he was but he was loved by many.
Kenneth is survived by two sons, Clark Elton (Rosie) Grindstaff of Hillsboro, TX and Bruce Allan (the late Rhonda) Grandstaff of Indianapolis, IN; one daughter, Kathy (Doak) Schuelke of Clifton, TX; 10 grandchildren; 21 grandchildren; and his long-term caregiver and best friend, Kristy (Tim) Ellison of Sikeston, MO and their 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Kenny Grindstaff and Kelly Grindstaff; one brother, Gaylord Grindstaff; and three sisters, Maedean Grindstaff King, Maxine Grindstaff Griffen, and Norma Jean Grindstaff.
Graveside services will be scheduled at a later date at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
